Marley and Me, Life and Love with the World's Worst Dog

AUTHOR: John Grogan
GENRE: Nonfiction, Memoir
LENGTH: 320 pages (paperback edition)
FIRST PUBLISHED: 2005

Marley & Me is one of the most popular dog memoirs. So many people have read it and if you haven’t yet, you need to grab a copy. I laughed, I cried, and I had to hug my own dog.

This fantastic memoir tells the story of the Grogan’s relationship with Marley as well as the story of his marriage and all it’s ups and downs. John and Jenny brought Marley home early in their marriage and he saw them through good times and bad times. He may have been expelled from obedience school, but Marley’s unconditional love and devotion made it all worth while.

In case you’re sensitive about this type of thing, remember that a dog’s lifespan is much less than that of his/her human’s. If you’re currently grieving the loss of a pet, you may want to skip this one until you’re ready.
